New Releases

If my intermittent blogging style is not enough for you, I'm happy to announce two new ways you can enjoy The Lommel. (Yes, I just referred to myself in the third person. Hollywood adores quirks and pretension.)

First off, the much-anticipated Fear of Girls 3 will drop December 4th on the YouTubes.

If you can't wait that long, go out and purchase yourself a copy of Smackdown vs. RAW 2009 available now for the game system of your choice. I am honored to be the voice of the referee.

So, for those of you who have been fervently wondering what I would say if you whacked me in the solar plexus with a folding chair -- this one's for you.

-Tom, who is pretty sure he says some variant of "Hey! Knock it off!!"

Comments
You didn't just refer to yourself in the third person, you gave yourself the 'the'.

You are really stretching your acting range by portraying a game referee. What personal experience could you have possibly drawn on to evoke the proper tone for that character?

I've got to say this 20 second clip of pixelated Lommel really gets to the heart of great voiceover work: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WIb6Wr8L-3A&fea...

Isn't it really just you mostly counting and shouting "Get back in the ring?"

90% of the script was counting from 1 to 10 with varying amounts of urgency.

I gotta tell you... 9's are tricky.

I hope you said them with a harsh German accent.

They had to write that out for you? Thank goodness they didn't ask for anything tricky like the alphabet :-)

You totally should have gone with Bagman when they hit you - Oiyah, oiyah.

By the time I got done with the session, my voice was so thrashed I don't think I could have made that noise. It was A LOT of yelling.

In fact, we went back and re-recorded the first page of lines so that the whole thing would be consistent.

...Consistently husky.
