The King Is Back

Hey, if you're out bargain hunting at the thrift store this weekend and you happen to swing by a better news stand, pick up the latest issue of Ill-Tended Campfire.

It just might feature someone you know.

-Tom, who has been looking for a new varmint rifle.

Billy James IS a genius, but why is Richard Riehle on the cover? "They thought I was a homeless" is a classic line, as well as a great campaign plot hook!

Billy James will replace Heath Ledger in Brokeback Mountain II.

Must it be either/or? Is not the beauty of Billy that he can be both?

Genius or fraud, you ask,
forcing me to choose,
like the morning dad said I got to keep one kitten and the rest
would go to the farm.

I actually already subscribe ti ITC. If you look on page 45 you'll see my letter to the editor complaining about last month's article on great american beers. Beer of course is a German libation. If you want to drink "American", I contend you really have to stink to bourbon.

With all the typos in that comment, I suggest you stink [sic] to beer.

BTW - Most of you missed an outrageous show at the Lommel's 40th wedding anniversary. I hope there is video of Tom as the catholic priest and Paul (he'll always be PJ to me) sporting a goatee in drag as a whip and ruler wielding no nonsense nun. Very well done - just enough edge to make the 90% over 60 stolidly catholic crowd cringe and laugh out loud at the same time. It takes a lot of courage to essentially roast your parents with 15 minutes of sexual innuendo laden commentary in front of that crowd. Well played my friend. Well played. And PJ, I didn't think it was possible to make me more repulsed by the sight of a nun that I had been given my parochial school upbrining, but you did a fine job as well.

Cheers to the both of you. And cheers to Joe and Vonne for celebrating the renewal of their vows by having the right reverend Tom Lommel bless their union.

To quote Tom during the vow renewal as he referenced Vonne bearing two sons over the period of 16 months: "Ya know, if you're gonna get on that horse,Joe, you might as well ride. That's what I always say."

Congratulations Vonne & Joe...for surviving Tom. A nation of rabid, non-paying fans of the Hollywood phenomenon that is your son tearfully thanks you.
