The Doctor Is IN... The Olympics
If you watched the Olympics on Sunday, there's a good chance you saw my latest spot. It's called "Stadium" and it's part of a big new campaign by GE Healthcare.
It was a dream gig. They flew several of us from LA to San Francisco, put us up in a nice hotel, and then rented a football stadium where I got to dress up like a doctor and run through fireworks while a marching band played and two pep squads threw cheerleaders up in the air. Awesome. Here are some behind-the-scenes photos:
Here's the final spot:
If you'd like to learn more about the whole campaign, GE posted a short behind-the-scenes video.
A shoot like this doesn't come along every month and I'm really grateful to my agents and assistants at KSR, the fine casting folks at Shooting From The Hip, and the directors and crew Traktor.
And, of course, special thanks to BBDO and GE Healthcare.
-Tom, who has to go scrub up.

We saw it a couple of times on Sunday. Nice work!
As to the 4th picture caption...." How is the view from the bleachers?"
I spotted 6 errors!!! Who was the technical advisor?
Regardless, it is soooo fun to see during the Olympics. I think this ad has the potential to run for months!
Just recalling the run out of the tunnel has to be a thrill and rush yet.
Add to your resume that you "played" the 50 yard line.
Great job!
Avery was wondering why they >let< the doctor after you do all the backflips. I told her obviously >the only reason< was because you had to give your lines at the end of the commercial and they didn't want you to risk hurting yourself.
Robben - That is not me doing the VO for the stadium announcer, although Misha is not alone in thinking that.
Pete - Your daughter's insight is EERILY accurate. That is EXACTLY the reason that "all" I get to do is run out.
Well, that and I can't do a single handspring ...much less six of them, 20 takes in a row.
But please do not let a little thing like facts crush your children's dreams. :-)
I saw it during the snow-cross prelims, and teared up like it was a goll-durned medal ceremony.
In the midst of a long, harsh and blizzardy winter, the games have been an intoxicating breath of snowy fun, pageantry, emotion and competition. Until yesterday, the only thing they were missing was a healthy dose of the Lominator.
Thank God, the doctor makes house calls.
Caption for the picture at the 50 yard line. "Jump up on the table, turn over and get ready for your procto exam"
Very cool Tom!
